John S. Williams is the founding member of the Law Offices of John S. Williams, LLC. Attorney Williams has fought for the rights of citizens across several states throughout his career. Attorney Williams defended the rights of consumers against fraud in the administration of Attorney General Mike Beebe in the State of Arkansas.
As an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division, Attorney Williams educated and fought for clients that fell victim to scams and business fraud. Attorney Williams went on to become Legal Director of the Mississippi Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). In this position, Attorney Williams educated citizens and litigated lawsuits to protect his client’s civil liberties all over the State of Mississippi. These included voter rights cases, free speech cases, prisoner rights case, and many other types of constitutionally driven litigation. Attorney Williams then went on to defend the rights of young people as an attorney at the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana. Attorney Williams filed class action lawsuits on behalf of young people confined to youth jails as well as represented youth in delinquency proceedings in court.
Attorney Williams has focused on systemic impact litigation and high profile civil rights matters and maintains a strong commitment to fight in court to protect the constitutional rights of his clients. He is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Since 2005, Attorney Williams has litigated complex civil and criminal cases in these three states and others.
Since opening his firm, Mr. Williams has focused his practice on representing injured individuals and protecting his clients constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Mr Williams has put all in his energy into fighting, and winning, for his clients.
John continues to be committed to both his clients and his community by civically engaging and always lending his talents to causes and concerns. John is a recent member of the Louisiana Supreme Court Judicial Campaign Oversight Committee, the Chair of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Louisiana Leadership Council, Chair of the St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Pastoral Council, Emerging Philanthropist of New Orleans (EPNO) class of 2015 and numerous other ad hoc boards for various organizations. John also finds it important to support other local non-profit community and social minded organizations.
