    More About Attorney Paul Doolittle

Paul M. Doolittle is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 1989, and is also admitted to practice in the Federal Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. Prior to that, Mr. Doolittle practiced law in the State of Oklahoma after obtaining his law degree from the Oklahoma City University College of Law in 1987, where he served as an editor of the Law Review.

Mr. Doolittle’s litigation practice involves representing injured workers in both State and Federal compensation claims. He has litigated and tried cases in front of Judges of Compensation Claims, State Court Judges, Federal Court Judges, and Federal Administrative Law Judges. For well over a decade, he has been asked by the claimant and the defense bar to mediate disputes arising under the Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act and its extensions – specifically the Defense Base Act. For the past six years, Mr. Doolittle has mediated three to four cases per week throughout the United States. As a result, he has earned the respect of the Claimant and Defense Bar.

An accomplished trial attorney, Mr. Doolittle has a reputation as a zealous but ethical advocate who has handled well over two thousand workers’ compensation cases in his close to 30 years of practice. In addition, he is well respected by his peers for his tireless efforts, through lobbying in Tallahassee, to protect and defend the rights of Florida’s injured workers. As a result, Mr. Doolittle has received several awards and accolades from the Florida Justice Association and the Florida Workers’ Advocates:

    • Each year, the Florida Justice Association elects one member throughout the state of Florida to Chair the Worker’s Compensation section, and Mr. Doolittle was privileged to have been elected to that position in 2002.
    • Over a decade ago, Mr. Doolittle was elected by the Claimant’s Bar in the state of Florida to serve as one of forty-three board members of the Florida Worker’s Advocates, and he continues to serve on this board as well as various committees.
    • Mr. Doolittle is one of eight Claimant attorneys who were invited to be the inaugural members of the E. Robert Williams Inn of Court, and is currently a Chancery of the Bench.
    • Mr. Doolittle was appointed by the President of the Florida Bar to the Workers’ Compensation Rules Advisory Committee for the term of July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012, and reappointed for consecutive terms from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2018.
    • Mr. Doolittle has been elected to a six year term on the Board of Directors for the DOL-Joint Bar Association for the term of January 1, 2013 – December 31, 2018.
    • Mr. Doolittle has been inducted (by invitation only) as a Fellow into the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers; an organization honoring those attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice in the field of workers’ compensation law. Members of the College nominate a lawyer with twenty or more years of practice that they are convinced possesses the highest professional qualifications, ethical standards, character, integrity and professional expertise.

In addition, Mr. Doolittle has received an AV rating – the highest possible rating – from Martindale-Hubble. An AV® certification mark is a significant rating accomplishment, a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. A lawyer must be admitted to the bar for ten years or more to receive an AV® rating. The “A” portion indicates a “very high” rating for legal ability. The “V” portion indicates faithful adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability, diligence, and other relevant factors. Mr. Doolittle’s rating is based on confidential ratings by lawyers and judges.

On a personal note, Paul recently sold his horse farm, which was his passion outside of the office.  Although he misses repairing fences and tractor work, he now spends the majority of his time with family and friends on his boat, Lucky Doo.
