Pat Lavette has been a lawyer more than 30 years, and has handled hundreds of cases for injured people. He has won numerous multi-million jury verdicts. Most recently, Pat was the lead attorney in a trial that resulted in verdicts totaling $15 million.
Pat’s background includes work with both a large defense firm and a large plaintiff law firm, giving him a unique perspective. He has been in an exclusively plaintiff’s practice since 1989. Pat is a gifted legal strategist who works closely with his partners to take full advantage of opportunities for significant recoveries.
An Alabama native, Pat graduated from the University of Virginia, with distinction in 1980, and earned his Juris Doctor in 1984 from the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Alabama Law Review. He is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, and the Alabama Association for Justice. His areas of practice include big truck (18 wheeler) accidents, nursing home abuse, drunk or drugged driving wrecks, electrocutions, propane /natural gas fires, wrongful death, and eminent domain/real estate condemnations. He has been a frequent lecturer and contributor to continuing legal education programs.
